CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Lake Erie College women's basketball team was defeated today (November 8th) by Cleveland State University, 71-51 in an exhibition game to open the season.
Offensively the Storm was led by freshman guard Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) who led the way with 15 points. Also scoring double digits was junior forward Kaeding Skelton (Grand Haven, Mich. / Grand Haven) who had 13 points on 5-8 shooting. The high mark in points for the game was 19 by Cleveland State's Cori Coleman.
Defensively the Storm was led by Skelton who had five defensive rebounds and seven total while tallying a game high four steals. Freshman center Christine Dawson (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) had four defensive and seven total rebounds and also had two steals.
The Storm will be back in action when they host Salem International to open their season in the GLIAC-GMAC Challenge on Friday (November 14th) at 7:30 P.M.
