CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's basketball team was defeated today by Cleveland St. University, 64-45.
The Storm fell behind early as they were outscored in both the first and second quarter, and entered the half trailing, 36-14. The Storm came out ready to play in the third quarter as they outscored the Vikings 18-14, and continued to play the Vikings tough in the fourth quarter. However, the Storm was unable to overcome the first half deficit and lost 64-45.
The Storm was led by Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) who had 13 points and two rebounds in the game. Shelby Carpenter (New Lebanon, Ohio / Miami Valley) added 11 points and also had a team high three steals in the game. Christine Dawson (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) led the way for the Storm in rebounds with five defensive rebounds and a total of six boards in the game, while also adding three points and two steals.
Lake Erie will be back in action Sunday (Nov. 8) for an exhibition at Western Michigan University.
