PAINESVILLE, Ohio-The Lake Erie College women's basketball team will embark on their final road trip in the GLIAC as the Storm will travel to Hillsdale for the final road game in the conference. The Storm will face the Chargers on Thursday (Feb. 16).
"Hillsdale is a tough matchup, led by point guard Allie Dewire and a group of three point shooters always in a position to shoot. We need a strong defensive outing and the ability to rebound to stay competitive," said Storm head coach Bob Booher.
Storm Report: The Storm tied their win total from last season with a 74-69 win over Findlay last Saturday (Feb. 11). Lake Erie has a record of 8-16 overall and 6-12 in the GLIAC. With six conference wins, the Storm set the second best mark for conference wins in the GLIAC.
Opposition Position: Hillsdale has an overall record of 13-12 and a GLIAC record of 7-11. The Chargers defeated Tiffin in their last game. Hillsdale's leading scorer is Allie Dewire, who averages 13.6 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per contest.
Series History: Hillsdale defeated the Storm 67-65 in the first meeting last month. The Storm was led by Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) who scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds. The Chargers lead the series history 7-3 through ten matchups.
Storm Forecast: The Storm will conclude the 2016-17 season with a home matchup against Ohio Dominican next Thursday (Feb. 23). The Storm seniors will be honored before the game.
