Storm Hosts Cedarville and Ursuline This Week (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's basketball team will continue the eight game homestand with matchups against the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets and the Ursuline College Arrows. The Yellow Jackets come to the Osborne Center on Thursday (Jan. 25) at 7:30 PM and the Arrows will face the Storm on Saturday
(Jan. 27) at 2:00 PM.
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 9-9 overall and 5-7 in the G-MAC following a 81-76 loss to Ohio Dominican on Saturday (Jan. 20). Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) led the Storm with 21 points and she is the leading scorer in the G-MAC with 20.2 points per game.
Opposition Position: Cedarville is 14-3 overall and 9-2 in the conference. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Arrows 66-63 in their last matchup. Regina Hochstetler is the leading scorer with 17.2 points. Ursuline is 13-6 overall and 10-3 within the G-MAC. Laney Lewis leads the Arrows with 19.4 points and 13.4 rebounds per game.
Series History: Lake Erie and Cedarville have never met on the court since the Storm joined Division II. The Storm is 5-4 against the Arrows on the hardwood. Earlier this season, Ursuline won the first matchup 70-58, with Gabor scoring 19 points. Ursuline defeated the Storm 89-71 last season at the Osborne Center.
Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will host Davis & Elkins on Tuesday (Jan. 30) at 7:30 PM.
