CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Lake Erie College Storm fell to the Cleveland State Vikings tonight 49-79.
Cleveland State scored first to start, but a three-pointer by Ashley West put the Storm up 3-2 for the first of few leads for the Storm. The Vikings went on a run, but with three minutes left in the first quarter Breanna Bauer made a layup to cut the Cleveland State deficit to six points before an end of first quarter score in favor of the Vikings 22-13.
The Storm regrouped and came out strong to start the second half with a 10-4 run over the Vikings, but ultimately Cleveland State ran away with it during the third quarter leading the Storm 65-32 at the end of the third.
This evening was Brook Kohlheim's first trip to the Wolstein Center to take on the Cleveland State Vikings as head of the Storm Women's Basketball program. "I think we're struggling with how to win and how to lose and what that entails on a daily basis, but we had some highlights from the bench with Laney's (Elaine Billings) eleven points in twenty minutes and some key defensive stops", said Head Coach Brook Kohlheim afterwards. "Taylor, Lexi, and Paige came in and scored, but Megan's leadership really helped us in the second half."
The next #StormWarning is set for Tuesday, November 20 when Storm Women's Basketball heads to Clarion University. Tip-off is set for 2:00pm.
