(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – The No. 6 team in the nation was too much for Lake Erie as it fell 10-2 to Lindenwood in non-conference action at Jack Britt Stadium Tuesday. The Storm dropped to 3-4 on the season while the Lions remained unbeaten at 10-0.
The Green and White held their own against the visitors from the Show Me State and limited their attack to just two goals through the first 25 minutes. Meagan Maxwell also added a goal on an assist from Anna Spin to make it a 2-1 game with 11:23 to go in the opening stanza.
However the Lions were able to score three goals in the final five minutes and started to pull away. The run extended to 5-0 after two early second half scores before Maxwell and Spin teamed up again for the Storm's second goal, but it was as close as they would get.
Despite taking the loss, Harmony Moore was still excellent between the pipes as she made an astounding 22 saves on 39 shots faced.
The Storm will be off for the weekend before they head to West Virginia for a Mountain State showdown with Davis & Elkins on Friday, April 5. Opening draw with the Senators is set for 7 p.m.
