EDMOND, Okla.-- The Lake Erie College wrestling team cracked the top-ten of the NCAA Division-II Wrestling Coaches Association poll for the first time in program history.
The Storm moved up seven spot from 14th to seventh in the first poll of the regular season. Earlier this week, the Storm maintained their spot as the top team in Super Region-II.
The Storm is off to a hot start this season in opens and invitationals. After a strong showing in the Michigan State and Mercyhurst Open to start the season, the Storm captured first-place at the Mount Union Invitational. In their first duel of the season, the Storm demolished Alderson-Broaddus University, 43-6, winning every contested bout.
Evan Rosborough (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) moved up one spot from three to two in the 197-pound rankings. Rosborough has accumulated 12 wins so far this season, with nine of them coming via pinfall and the other three coming from major decisions.
The Storm is back in action next weekend when they compete at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis.
