Storm Hosts Gannon on Senior Night (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College wrestling team will conclude the final dual of the season as they host Gannon University on Wednesday (Feb. 15) for Senior Night.

The Storm will honor two seniors: Evan Rosborough (Concord Township, Ohio / Riverside) and Christian Baughman (Wadsworth, Ohio / Wadsworth) on Wednesday night.

Storm Report: The Storm has a record of 1-6 in duals so far this season. Lake Erie dropped duals against #11 Tiffin and #10 Findlay in GLIAC duals at the beginning of February.  

Team Rankings: In the DII Wrestling Coaches Association rankings released on Wednesday (Feb. 1), the Storm was ranked 12th. The team was also ranked fourth in the Super Region Two rankings released on January 31st

Individual Rankings: Four Storm wrestlers were nationally ranked in the DII Wrestling Coaches Association rankings released on Wednesday (Feb. 1). Blake Glogouski (New Paris, Ind. / Fairfield) was ranked eighth at 125 pounds. Nick Boggs (Concord, Ohio / Riverside) was ranked second at 149 pounds. Nick Vandermeer (Clarkston, Mich. / Clarkston) is seventh in the 165 pounds weight class. At 184 pounds, Tyler Hughes (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick) is slotted 11th in his weight class. Eight wrestlers were ranked regionally.

Opposition Position: Gannon is 7-2 in duals this season with four duals against nationally ranked teams. The Golden Knights defeated West Liberty 41-8 in their last dual.

Series History: Lake Erie fell to Gannon last season on the road. In six matchups, the Storm has a record of 2-4 against the Golden Knights since 2009.

Storm Forecast: The Storm will compete at the Super Region 2 Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana next weekend.
