GLIAC Releases Women's Soccer Preseason Poll

BAY CITY, Mich.—The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) unveiled the 2015 Preseason Women's Soccer Coaches Poll in conjunction with their media day Tuesday (Aug. 18).

The Storm was predicted to finish 11th in the conference.

Grand Valley State University was predicted to win the conference, receiving 11 first-place votes.  Ohio Dominican University was in second, receiving the final two first-place votes.  Saginaw Valley State University (117), Michigan Tech University (108), and Ashland University (104) rounded out the top-five.

The poll was released as part of the conference's media day website, which features previews from all GLIAC teams and brief interviews with each head coach.

Junior Elizabeth Awuah returns to lead the Storm offensive attack.  Awuah scored nine goals for the Storm last season to lead the team.  She also assisted on two more.  Sophomore Ashley Pryce scored three goals in her freshman campaign.  Senior Marlena Lesniowski finishes her solid career anchoring the Storm's midfield.  Last season, Lesniowski scored a pair of goals, including an overtime winner against Malone University.

Rebecca Cornell, Alecia Dipre and Deanna Hill return to the Storm's defense this season.  They will lead a young defensive group in front of a freshman goalkeeper.  Last year, the Storm defense allowed 1.81 goals per game with three shutouts.
