Storm Volleyball Drops a Pair in Day One at Lock Haven Invitation

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- Lake Erie College drop a pair in day one at Lock Haven Invitation as they played both Bloomfield College and host Lock Haven University, at Thomas field house in Lock Haven, Pa.    

In game one Lake Erie College came up just short as Bloomfield College won 3-2.  The storm took the first two sets 25-13, 25-15, and the offense was led by freshman outside hitter Asya Hobbs (Lynwood, Ill. / Bishop Noll) as she had 18 total kills in the game.  Senior middle hitter Sara Aultz (Wooster, Ohio / Orrville) also had a good offensive as she tallied 17 kills in the game.

Lake Erie College's defense was led by freshman Graesyn Engler (Perrysburg, Ohio / Perrysburg) with 20 digs for the game.  Engler lead all players in digs for the game, and Lake Erie had 60 total digs to Bloomfield's 57.   

In game two the Storm was defeated by Lock Haven University 3-1.  The Storm fought hard as they were down two sets to none before winning the third set 27-25.  The Bald Eagles won the fourth and final set 26-24.

Lake Erie College offense was led by Aultz and senior outside hitter Mikaela Lengal (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick/Ashland) who combined for 21 of Lake Erie's forty kills.  Once again the defense was bolstered by Engler who had 19 of the Storm's 47 digs.       

Lake Erie College is back in action tomorrow in day two of the Lock Haven Invitational tournament.  The Storm play Glenville St. and California University at 1 P.M.  and 5 P.M. respectively.
