FINDLAY, Ohio – The Lake Erie College volleyball team was defeated today by Findlay in straight sets. With the loss the Storm falls to 9-19 overall and 3-14 in the conference and with the win the Oilers improve to 22-7 overall and 14-3 in conference play.
The Oilers jumped out to a fast start, taking the first two set of the match, (25-13, 25-14).
The Storm responded in the third set, and took an early 8-3 in the set. Findlay rallied to take the lead, but the Storm came back and took a late 24-23 lead to force a Findlay timeout. The Oilers scored three of the final four points and won the final frame, (27-25).
The Storm attack was led by Crystal Kedroske (Dexter, Mich. / Dexter) and Madison Russell (Westerville, Ohio / Westerville South) who each tallied eight kills in the match. Defensively for the Storm, Alexis Thomas (Cincinnati, Ohio / Fairfield) led the way with six digs. Thomas also had a team high 11 assists.
Lake Erie will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to take on Hillsdale at 5 P.M., in their final match of the 2015 season.
