Storm Looks for Final Playoff Push at Walsh (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College volleyball team will conclude the 2016 regular season this weekend with a road game at Walsh University on Saturday (Nov. 12). The GLIAC matchup at Walsh is the final regular season game with the GLIAC.

Storm Report: Lake Erie enters the final weekend of the regular season with a 17-15 overall record and an 8-7 GLIAC mark. Lake Erie dropped two matches last weekend on the road, a 3-0 loss at Ashland and a 3-2 loss at Tiffin.

GLIAC Playoff Push: As the regular season winds down, Lake Erie finds themselves in the running for a spot in the 2016 GLIAC Tournament. Entering Friday, the Storm is tied for eighth in the conference with Grand Valley State. There are two spots left with many of the teams in the league playing two matches this weekend.

Series History: Lake Erie and Walsh have faced off six times since 2009 with Walsh winning five of the six matchups. Earlier this season, the Storm defeated the Cavaliers in five sets for the Storm's first GLIAC win.

Opposition Position: The Cavaliers have an overall record of 10-17 for the season and they are 2-12 in the GLIAC. Walsh swept local rival Malone on Tuesday (Nov. 8) 3-0 and will host Ohio Dominican along with Lake Erie this weekend.

Storm Forecast: Should the Storm clinch a playoff spot, they would be traveling for the first round game on Wednesday (Nov. 16).
