PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College volleyball team will make their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) playoff debut on Wednesday (Nov. 16) night as they take on the #2 seed University of Findlay Oilers in the first round.
Storm Report: The Storm concluded the regular season with an 18-15 overall record and a 9-7 GLIAC mark following a 3-0 sweep of Walsh University on Saturday (Nov. 12).
Program Firsts: The Storm is in the GLIAC Tournament for the first time in program history, adding to a list of program bests this season. With 18 wins, the Storm set the record of most wins in a season. Lake Erie notched wins against teams such as Findlay, Wayne State and Grand Valley State.
Series History: Lake Erie had faced the University of Findlay 15 times since the 2009 season and the Oilers won 14 of 15 matchups. The Storm defeated the Oilers 3-2 in October to upset Findlay.
Opposition Position: The Oilers won the GLIAC South division and finished 2nd in the conference with a 13-4 GLIAC record. Findlay completed the 2016 season with a 21-8 overall record.
