PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College volleyball team will return to the Osborne Center for two matches on Tuesday (Oct. 17) as a part of a tri-match. The Storm will host the Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks at 3:30 PM and then will play the Notre Dame College Falcons at 8:00 PM. The middle match will feature the Redhawks and Falcons at 6:00 PM.
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 15-7 overall after a 2-1 weekend at the 2017 Midwest Region Crossover in Aurora, Illinois. The Storm picked up 3-1 wins over Indianapolis and Drury but fell 3-1 to Illinois-Springfield. Bethany Fisher (Orrville, Ohio / Dalton) was named East Division Player of the Week for the second time this season by the conference. Fisher piled up 53 kills in three matches, including 23 against the Greyhounds of Indianapolis. She also assisted on nine blocks for the Storm.
Opposition Position: Roberts Wesleyan travels to Painesville with a 1-21 overall record after a 3-0 loss to Molloy over the weekend. Notre Dame College is 9-12 overall following a 3-2 win over Virginia-Wise in their last game.
Series History: Lake Erie and Roberts Wesleyan have met once before on the court as the teams met last year at the Daeman Wildcat Classic, Lake Erie won the match 3-0. The Storm and the Falcons have met at least once in seven of the last eight years. In 11 total matchups, Lake Erie have won the last nine for a 9-2 series advantage. The Storm swept the Falcons in Painesville last year.
Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will travel to Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene for Great Midwest matchups on Friday (Oct. 20) and Saturday (Oct. 21).
