"After last weekend's two thrilling, heart-attack inducing matches, we were very happy to have those wins under our belt. They were essential if we were going to have any chance of hosting the first round of the conference tournament", said Head Coach Kyle Peck. He continued to say, "we know we have AB and D&E coming in this weekend, so if we can get two more wins, we can host. We really relied on our two senior leaders tonight, on our Senior Night, we jumped on AB early and just really got into a rhythm."
Storm Seniors Crystal Kedroske and Alexis Thomas have been a one-two punch for the program over the past four years. "Crystal and Alexis have literally built this program into what it is today. They started on the ground floor four years ago, and they have worked their tails off to make Lake Erie Volleyball relevant. They are a main reason we have had success this year", said Peck.
The Storm returns to The Osborne Family Wellness Center for their final regular season match of the 2018 season against Davis & Elkins at 1pm. They are working to win home-court advantage in the first round of the G-MAC tournament, but with their win over Malone they have already clinched a postseason bid.
