PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College cross country team will be in action Saturday (Sept. 16) when they travel to Kutztown University to compete in the Kutztown D2/D3 Challenge.
Storm Report: The Storm is coming off of a solid performance from both the men's and women's teams in their opening meet of the year two weeks ago at the Ric Sayre Invite.
Interim Head Coach Matt Stuck "This weekend we are heading to Kutztown University in PA for our first big meet of the year. There will be over 20 teams represented from multiple regions, so this is a good meet to see where we stack up against some other good teams. I can feel the energy coming from the athletes and they want to get into a race feeling good and see what they can do".
Coach Stuck concluded "This meet lines up really well for us, as all of our runners will be in the main group and will have plenty of other athletes to help them run a good time. For some of our younger runners this is one of their first couple races at the longer 8k and 6k distances so there is still a lot of mental learning and learning the art of racing the longer courses, but we have shown good poise in our season opener and the Storm Cross Country teams are ready for this next challenge".
Forecast: Lake Erie will be back in action Friday (Sept. 29) when they travel to Cedarville University to compete in the All-Ohio Championships.
