(TIFFIN, Ohio) – A young Lake Erie cross country squad will get its first taste of competition this Saturday as the Storm runs in the Tiffelberg Open. The event is hosted by Heidelberg University and will feature seven teams, three of which are from the G-MAC.
That alone gives Head Coach Giles Davis some excitement as it gives his student-athletes an early look at the conference competition.
"With three of teams from the G-MAC conference scheduled to compete at the forthcoming Tiffelberg Cross Country Open, this will provide a great opportunity to see how well we can compete on what is consider a fast course," he said.
The other G-MAC schools running are Hillsdale, Tiffin, and Ursuline. The field will also feature Division I talent with Bowling Green. Defiance, host Heidelberg, and Lourdes will also be there.
The event will be ran at Hedges Boyer Park at 491 Coe Street in Tiffin. The women will run the 6K first at 10 a.m. and will be followed by the men's 8K at 10:45.
Both races are 5K loops with an additional 1K loop for the women and a 1.5K loop run at two different points during the men's race.
